Involvement at Bright City

To lead a Group at Bright City, we ask that you've attended for at least 6 months and that you've participated in a Group or a Serve Team. If you've been here for less than 6 months and haven't jumped in yet, feel free to still fill out the application!

At Bright City or at another church

  1. Take steps towards Jesus through commitment to spiritual health and growth (Bible reading, prayer, repentance, service, generosity, etc). Psalm 1:1-3, Matthew 4:4, Colossians 1:9-10, 1Peter 2:2
  2. Prioritize home health over ministry health.  1 Timothy 3:5, 5:8
  3. Honor God in your private life (avoid pornography, sexual sin, excessive alcohol, drug use, etc). Matthew 5:28, Ephesians 5:18, Galatians 5:19-21
  4. Use social media responsibly. Matthew 18:6, Hebrews 13:18
  5. Use words to uplift, not tear down. Matthew 15:11, Ephesians 4:29, Titus 2:7-8
  6. Understand and affirm our Core Values, Belief Statement, and FAQs as outlined at www.brightcitynw.com/serveteams Titus 1:9, 2:1, 2 Timothy 4:2-4
  7. Commit to participation and support of Bright City (serving, giving, prayer, etc). Acts 2:42, Hebrews 10:24-25
  8. Attend training / equipping sessions throughout the year. Ephesians 4:11-13
  9. Commit to thinking like a shepherd who knows and cares for the flock, not merely a host of a social event. 2 Corinthians 1:3-5
  10. Be ready to handle real life challenges and interpersonal conflict within your Group. Ephesians 4:32, Galatians 6:9-10
  11. Commit to paying attention to how people are doing and how your Group could come alongside them. Philippians 2:4, 1 John 3:17-18
  12. Stay humble and keep learning. 1 Timothy 4: 11-16, 2 Timothy 2:15
